Amazon River Visit

Our last stop was to the Heliconia Amazon River Resort.  But before we got there we stopped at a monkey preserve and made some new friends. Both Carla and I got to spend some time with a few of the Amazon's permanent residents. Then off to the Heliconia Resort where the power was only on 12 hours a day. 4 hours in the morning, 2 hours at lunch, and 6 hours in the evening. We were always wet due to the humidity. The bottom photo shows what we had to climb at every stop we made in the Amazon due to the river being so low during the dry season. These were 30-40 foot climbs. And we did this 2-3 times (up and down) for 3 days. Easy when you are 40 and not so easy at 70.
